A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT MIKE

As we draw close towards the first half of our Rotary year I wish to take this opportunity of wishing everyone a very enjoyable and rewarding Christmas – club Members and Partners, Friends of the Rotary Club of Heston & Isleworth, and all our colleagues throughout Rotary in the UK and worldwide friends, especially those we have had the pleasure of meeting this past year.

Support of our community is major in our all our plans with our focus on contributing help to Hounslow Multiple Sclerosis, the Toy Library, the Physically Disabled Peoples’ League, the Isleworth Society, and my President’s charity, the Alzheimer’s Society, with over £700 being raised by this club over the past few months for the Hounslow branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Our support of what we call the ‘Kenya Kitchen Project’ emphasizes that we are members of a worldwide organization and our club is rightly proud of its overseas links and the praise we received from RIBI President David Fowler.

But even as the year ends our work continues, and we shall be on duty once again in Christmas week at Tesco’s Osterley, collecting on behalf of the numerous local charities our club supports.

This past year saw us having a lot of fun with weekends away, visits to famous and historical sites, visits to the theatre, and glorious hospitality at Fellows’ homes, all maximizing our enjoyment of Rotary fellowship.

We’re never complacent and all of us look forward to a busy programme of activity, doing what we do best – supporting our local community – over the next twelve months.

All the best to you and yours this Christmas and all success in 2010!

Mike Abbott

President Rotary Club of Heston and Isleworth
